Hello everyone, and welcome, I hope the new year has been kind so far! I am back from a much needed vacation, and have brought you a new lesson to follow, this time on casting a Return to Sender spell.
I would like to begin this lesson with a brief overview on the nature of these spells. There are those who believe Return to Sender rituals to be chaotic in nature, or a form of hex. Some would say the spell is entriely unnecessary, claiming the negative intentions of another individual will simply be redirected by the force known as "karma", ultimately being reflected back towards the ill-intentioned person. This is untrue, Return to Sender magick is a form of protection, you are not casting ill-will towards another person. On the contrary, you are putting up a protective barrier to guard your own energy. There is nothing wrong with protecting yourself from those who would wish you harm.
Required Items

For this spell, I will personally be using the Flying Devil Oil carried in the Magika Mystika shop to dress my candle during the ritual. However, you may use any type of Uncrossing Oil you have access to.
Before we begin, it is always good practice to cleanse any tools you will be using. I will not cover in detail how to do this, as that would be an article in and of itself. If you are performing a spell, I will assume you have some knowledge of grounding yourself and performing your cleansing ceremony.
Choose your preferred cleansing method such as incense, sage, mugwort, etc.
You should also take this time to ground yourself if you have not done this yet.
Preparing The Spell
Now that you've cleansed your tools and grounded your energy, it is time to begin preparing for the spell. To begin, take your paper and pen (or other writing tool such as a quill) and begin writing out your incantation.
"The Hex is broken
The Curse is lifted
I am lucky, happy, fortunate and healthy
I am free from all evil
As I will it, so mote it be!"
As you write out your declaration, be sure to focus on your desire to be free of malicious intent, and to repel this back towards its origin.
After you have finished writing your incantation, you'll want to begin powdering your herbs if you have not done so already. It is common to do this in a mortar & pestle, but I've seen people use certain household appliances to do this as well.
Next, we will be carving and dressing our candle. You may choose to carve symbols on the candle to represent your intentions, such as the Evil Eye. Once you have prepared the imagery for it, you will begin anointing the candle with your choice of oil. For me, this will be the Flying Devil Oil I linked previously. It doesn't take much, but you also don't want to use too little. As a rule, I prefer to be generous with how much ritual oil I use, but this is my personal preference.
Performing The Ritual
With your ingredients prepared, it is now time to perform our ritual!
You will want to find somewhere private for this, as any outside energy could easily topple your spell.
Begin by placing your anointed candle on top of the paper. If you have not already done so, go ahead and dress your candle with the ritual oil. After it has been sufficiently dressed with oil, begin sprinkling your powdered Agrimony and Hydrangea on the candle. At this point, you will now light the candle and recite your incantation three times over. As you recite the incantation, envision what you hope to accomplish just as you did before. I prefer to visualize a barrier of light surrounding me, repelling any darkness encroaching upon my domain.
"The Hex is broken
The Curse is lifted
I am lucky, happy, fortunate and healthy
I am free from all evil
As I will it, so mote it be!"
Take some time to meditate on your ritual, staying with your candle until it has burned all the way down, and then finish the spell by burning the paper if it has not already. Once the candle has burned up, take the remains and bury it in dirt.
There we have it, one of my favorite Return to Sender spells. Perfect for use any time you believe yourself to be the target of a hex or jinx.
